Algonquin’s original RiverView opened for business on May 1, 1907 as The RiverView Hotel to help serve the growing need for quality board and lodging in our bustling Victorian era resort town.

In 1936, the hotel closed and The RiverView first took on its new role as a gathering place for people to enjoy conversation and music while sharing food and drink.

For nearly a century, the establishment and its distinctive building was a highly recognized local landmark which served as a visual cornerstone to downtown Algonquin for those who entered our village both from the east by way of the road as well as from the north by way of the river.

Today, we welcome you to the Riverview’s current home where our staff and our walls will continue to embrace the generations.  We pledge to you, our patrons old and new, our continued dedication to quality, service, great food, fun, and drink.
