Philippians is a letter from one city to another, so we’re topping and tailing Discipleship Explored with two episodes set at London’s City Hall: the Norman Foster designed GLA building on the banks of the Thames. The views from the top are stupendous, but the views from inside are pretty incredible too.
I have to admit that I bottled out of one of the proposed shots today: standing on top of a flight case several storeys up, overlooking a balcony. It’s not easy discovering you suffer from vertigo in front of a ten-strong and highly professional crew. But they hid their disappointment well, and some of them even made eye contact with me later in the day.
We did both episodes today, so it was a long, demanding day for everyone. But Steve and Mark are managing to put together a series that looks incredibly striking. I’m only seeing occasional rushes here and there, but what I’m seeing is very, very exciting.
