Repton Boxing Club

Not many people know this, but I’ve recently taken up boxing. Not proper boxing where people actually punch each other, of course. I don’t want to get hurt or anything. No, I’ve taken up the boxing where you hit the pads of your trainer, who is wise enough to stay well away from your flailing, amateurish hands.

It got me thinking about Episode 3, Standing Together In Christ. Paul’s big question in Philippians 1:27-2:11 is: will you be a contender for the gospel? We can’t fight for the gospel if we’re fighting with each other.

Repton Boxing Club in London’s East End is dubbed “The Home of Champions” and tracing the photos that line the walls, you can see why. It’s a knockout sequence of one  prize fighter after another.

Three of the lads came down yesterday and we got some terrific shots of them in action. They actually made skipping look manly.

Today we got all the shots of me doing my bits. Although it’s way, way too early to say, I think this might turn out to be my favourite episode.
