I finally did it. I knew it was inevitable. I was dreading the day I would have to do it.
I've bought my first album as a download.
The artist is named Les Fradkin. He's a guitarist, but on the album I bought, he used a Ztar. It as a MIDI controller that uses guitar playing techniques. The album called, "One Link Between Them" is full of the type of Synth shredding I really like.
The bad news is that the album is absolutely not available on CD anywhere. So the question became where to buy the download album. I decided on CD Baby. They sell only full albums as MP3 downloads. The files are VBR encoded MP3s. The download includes a JPEG for cover art, and text file for liner notes.
I really like CDs, but it sure looks as if this will be a little more common in the future. I am, however, still not convinced CDs will be obsolete anytime soon.
