I have 200GB of music that I rotate in my 8GB iPod Nano. This is the method I use to remove songs on my iPod. It uses Applescripts downloaded from Doug’s Applescripts for iTunes and iPod. The scripts I use are the following:
After they’re downloaded, install the scripts in the following location:
~/users/Library/iTunes/Scripts/
The scripts will then be available from the scripts menu in iTunes.
Here’s our sample scenario: I want to delete my EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER playlist, but one of the songs is also in the IT’S A PROG CHRISTMAS playlist.
After deleting the EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER playlist, click the Not In Any Playlist To Playlist script.
The following dialog box appears. Click “No, Ignore”.
This is the resulting playlist which is called, “Not In Any Playlist But This One”.
The tracks from the deleted EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER playlist minus the one track that’s in the IT’S A PROG CHRISTMAS playlist. While this new playlist is selected, you can now click the Delete Playlist And Tracks From My iPod script.
The following dialog box appears. Click “Yes, proceed...”.
Here’s the results.
The Prog Report will not be responsible for any tracks you lose because you fail to follow instructions. See you next post.
