This April sees the CD release of my own adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s The Phantom of the Opera, which aired on BBC7 last Christmas. The four-part dramatization is the first to feature the original operatic sequences described in the novel, which have been freshly recorded and orchestrated by the composer Tim Sutton. The play stars Anna Massey, Peter Guinness, Alexander Siddig and James D’Arcy.
The Phantom of the Opera is the second play I have written for Big Finish Productions. My first is Doctor Who: The Bride of Peladon, which was released in January. You can listen to the trailers for both plays here:
My other hugely exciting news is that the pop song ‘Children of Tomorrow’ performed by Stephen Gately and Clare Buckfield (with music by Tim Sutton, lyrics by me) has been released as a single on iTunes. Please check it out here and - if you like it - BUY IT! Tim and I are collaborating on a second song - ‘Falling Star’ - with singer Steven Pacey.
Much to my delight, I continue to be involved with Big Finish’s audio range of Doctor Who titles. I am still working on post production for four stories - The Zygon Who Fell To Earth, The Haunting of Thomas Brewster, Assassin In The Limelight and The Boy That Time Forgot - and am already in preproduction on several more.
