HAUNTED HOUSE AT HEARTFELT DESIGNS
Volunteers Wanted For 'Spookiest Haunt Ever'
The week of Halloween, The BareStage Theatre will offer an unusually "theatrical" haunted house in the basement of Heartfelt Design Gallery, 623 Main Street, in downtown Red Bluff.
The theatre is looking for volunteers to help set up and perform in the special event, which will run from nightly from October 24 to 31.
It is also looking for various Halloween paraphernalia to help fill the many rooms in the planned haunted house.
Interested volunteers, or those with suitable costumes and/or decorations should call the theatre as soon as possible at 529-1241.
"This is going to be a huge event, and we need as many people and as much scary stuff as we can gather to make it a truly memorable experience," said BareStage board member Andy Dena.
Dena added that this will be the first time he is aware of in Tehama County history that a community performing arts organization has presented a haunted house. So, he added, it should be really something special.
"This is a one of the most eerily appropriate places in town to host a haunted house," said BareStage Artistic Director Bryon Burruss, "At the turn of the century, that storefront was a furniture store, which used to be the place you would go to buy a coffin, oddly enough. And local legend has it that, before being moved through the back alley to the nearby mortuary, bodies would regularly be embalmed in the basement of what is now Heartfelt Designs Gallery.
"So, who knows what sort of weirdness might happen a hundred years later on All Hallow's Eve?"
The haunted house will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. every night. starting Friday, October 24 at Heartfelt Designs Gallery, 623 Main Street in historic downtown Red Bluff.
Admission will be $3 for children up to 12 years of age. Youngsters 13 to 17 will be $4, and adults 18 and over will be $5. Tickets are on sale now at Wild Oak or will be available at the door on the nights of the haunted house.
The theatre will not be taking reservations for the haunted house, but can accommodate all visitors. Information is available by calling 529-1241.
