I was given a small budget and a free hand to come up with a memorial in Liss Infants School. Giant working sundial I thought-how difficult can that be....

I learned a lot about measuring time, how to orient the structure,

spacing of the numbers and height and angle of the sticking-up bit.

As the sun v. clocks varies up to 15 mins fast/slow over the year I

produced an information sheet to explain the apparent inaccuracies

which are magnified on a large sundial.
