Picturing idioms

Growing up in a large family where idiosyncratic idioms were manufactured daily, Barbara worked to  separate the literal from the figurative. She still does. Now a painter and printmaker, she looks for patterns that she can trace to inherited and acquired traits.

Barbara’s work has been exhibited widely in the United States, as well as in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. She also organizes arts exchanges and has been awarded several public art commissions.
