Yesterday was the annual homebrew party thrown by the best homebrew supply store, Siciliano’s Market. We upgraded, again, to a larger facility and once again had a capacity crowd (with others unable to get tickets). The food was typically excellent and the door prizes outstanding.
Our local Sam Adams rep came thru with some real top of the line stuff and Chip ended up with this back pack. As you can see it is perfectly sized for a half Corny so that your trip does not have to leave you thirsty.
But this is also a homebrew competition so that we can get some feedback about our brews, compete against locals, and (if you are real good...and lucky) to medal.
Last year I neglected to submit any beers and was punished by getting reviews that said I could have won my category. That was not going to happen again this year.
Chip, Brian D, Brian C, Frank, and I all entered beers this year. Brian C won a Bronze Medal for his first ever batch! That is quite a way to start.
Chip won a silver, which now gives him a gold and a silver from two different competitions.
And me...well I was fortunate enough to win a silver also. Here are the review sheets.
As an unexpected bonus Steve Siciliano picked me to help judge the Best in Show. Props to Chip for getting me in on that. Life really can be about who you know and in this case it really was an awesome experience.
