Since I put up the hop pole I have suffered a bit of a set back. The Tettnanger from last year did not return. But we bought some Sterling to replace them. They have started but are nothing like the Hallertau from last year.
As you can see the hops have grown up the starter poles and have

Since the last of the Hefe (which was emergency brewed for the contest and then not needed/available) is gone it was time to replace it. Since success has been its name since January of ’06 I figured it was time to make 10 gallons.

The IIPA (now being re-dubbed Old Ale), while tasty in it’s own right, is not quite the light summer beer that inspires easy drinking. I bit too high on the % for that.

Considering how bad the BB turned out and that DiGennero is hosting a beer tasting party on the 23rd we decided that we must make up some beer. (Brian is also disappointed in some of his recent efforts. Seems that there is a rash of bad beer running thru the Grand Rapids branch of the Francis

As I feared the BB is a total loss.
I kegged it up earlier this week anyway but pretty much knew it was not going to be worth it. But I cannot give up that easily.
Now, after the too long fermentation, cooling and carbonating it is totally confirmed.
