Chautauqua Music Camps
Chautauqua Music Camps
Join us Week 8 at Chautauqua for Music and Fun!
2009 is our 11th year of making music on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution.
The Chautauqua Music Camps features two camps in one. Woodwind, brass and percussion students entering grades six through nine are eligible for our Middle School Band Camp. The Chautauqua Orchestra Camp is for high school and advanced middle school string students, as well as for woodwind, brass, and percussion students entering grades 10 – 12. Instructors for both camps include members of the Chautauqua Symphony, as well as highly skilled teachers from around Western New York.
The Chautauqua Institution is home to a world-class Symphony Orchestra, Summer Opera Company, and Collegiate Summer Music Program. During the day, students will be able to enjoy many of the recreational activities available on the grounds. With their gate pass, students will be able to attend many of the evening events at the Institution for no extra charge during the week of the camp. This includes the opportunity on Wednesday to attend a dress rehearsal of Chautauqua Opera’s latest production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. On Friday afternoon, a special Pizza Party has been planned for all participants at the Miller Bell Tower.
Check out the rest of the site for more information about each of our programs. We hope to see you at the Chautauqua Institution this August 17 - 22nd!
