James Ludwig started Back40 Films in August of 2003, naming the company after a piece of land in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the colorful area in which he grew up. A Face in the Rock, the feature screenplay written by James, is set there.
Since then, Back40 has produced a series of shorts, including the well-regarded National Actors Draft, which was entered in Buzz Cuts NYC in 2004 and premiered in Washington DC.
The Happy Hour Guys:
“the show that goes around the globe to fulfill this promise; if there’s a story to be told, a history to be shared, and a drink to be sampled, we’ll be there. Explore, and don’t forget bring a taste for some great grog, pub fare, and of course a tale or two. Cheers!”
Currently Back40 is developing four feature scripts, including A Face in the Rock, The Perfect Pitch, Loud World, and Quantqm, of which A Face in the Rock is the focus of production.
