Slice of Life
Slice of Life
OK, it’s pretty late tonight, so I’ll be brief. I spent the last few hours 1) trying to figure out my A/V equipment that I haven’t used in about a year and then 2) importing some home video. So, you get a video tonight. Weeee! (This was Drew tonight. He was so wound up for some reason. He’s dancing the polka and shooting hoops at the same time. This clip goes on for about eight or nine minutes, but I cut it into two.)
But I do have an issue I want to bring up on the blog. I am hoping we set a blog-record for comments because I want everyone to weight in -- and that means you ANONYMOUS reader who checks in on our life every now and then and passes through without leaving any comments. So, here’s the deal.
Curbside take-away and tipping. What’s going on here with this? Do you or don’t you? If you do, how much? Those of you in the restaurant business, what do you think?
So there aren’t many gaps or questions and you can make an informed comment, here’s the situation I encountered the other day. We got Outback take out. The guy brings the food out, takes our gift cards (yay!) and then brings them back out. It’s about 25 degrees out. He stands there and watches me while I sign and fill out nothing under the tip. I appreciate the fact that he froze his butt off for a couple of minutes, but, I mean, he didn’t do anything, in my opinion. Also, on top of that, if you tip like, five percent, or so, I would think that’s insulting. I don’t want to be rude or be seen as tight, but I just don’t see justification for tipping. So, let me have it if I’m wrong, but give me some guidance here. We, as a society of civilized people, need to standardize this procedure. Thanks in advance.
