Got a Hoban fact, fancy, query or point of view? We’d be glad to hear it!

This site was set up to allow frequent and timely updates of our progress as we planned the celebrations to mark the 250th. anniversary of the birth of James Hoban. With the completion of the schedule of events in Dublin and Kilkenny on the first weekend in October 2008, the site is now maintained as a record of the commemoration and of some continuing outreach activities as the Hoban exhibits move to various locations in the U.S. and Ireland.

You can also access the various other Hoban-related sites and those of our partner organizations via the links on our Society Branches, Partners and Current Links page.

To all those who made the last two years possible – from that first government-sponsored conference in Kilkenny in 2006 to the wonderful ‘Summer in October’  Sunday afternoon at the Hoban Birthplace Site at Desart in 2008 – a sincere thank you. You have helped to preserve and present an aspect of Irish and American history that   will serve to enhance and embellish the wonderful relationship between our two countries.
