For those of you who were wondering that is “put your records on” in French.... I hope! Our latest installment is dedicated to... how Zhu say zee fabulous Frunce! I will confess that the majority of my French is from the Beatles and Pattie LaBelle songs. Surprisingly those words that went together well (for you Michelle lovers) did not seem to come up to often when I was in France, especially those that Ms. LaBelle taught me! I have broadened my musical boarders and recently added some more French musique. Do I know what the songs are saying.....I get the general idea. In the classic songs the singers seem so enthusiastically uninterested, that I can’t resist. So for now my Itunes includes Eartha Kitt ( who you might know from Santa Baby... always a crowd pleaser), Rufus Winwright, Amelia-les-crayon, and Pink Martini. When I listen to the music I feel like I should be strolling down the Camps-Elysees in a sun-dress with my tiny poodle named Madame Zsa Zsa ( true confessions I am planing on buying a poodle and naming her Madame Zsa Zsa and giving her a poodle cut every now and then... so if you steel my puppy name...I will come and get you!). It seems like this scene calls for a cigarette, but since the thought of smoking I will switch it to a midday champaign (how very parisian!). And there is a Parisian man in a striped shirt and black beret, saying something that sounds so romantic and then he laughs his french laugh.
So my suggestions for listening! Let me know if you have any suggestions!
Eartha Kitt- C’est si bon (It’s so Good) ; and Je cherche des homme
Amelie-les-crayons- Le chant des coquelicots
Pink Martini- Sympathique
