Boring Photo....Clean it Up!

Another one of my former students!  I love it when I get to see them outside of the classroom.  We always have way more fun than they think.  Lauren and her mom, Jeri, really enjoyed the night.  Her mom said, “I can’t remember the last time I had this much fun.”  I thought to myself, “I do, it was two days ago shooting Caelle.”  We have that much fun on every shoot!

We shot at Lover’s Key, which was rated one of the top beaches in all of Florida.  It really is beautiful but a little of the beaten path.  You have to walk to the beach after 4:30 when the tram stops running.  For all of you sick of crawling over other people at the beach, though, it’s a great spot!  We paid $5 per car, and I promise we saw one other person on the beach from about 6:30 until sunset.  There’s a huge gazebo, great bird watching and fishing.  The mangroves are beautiful as well.  I think there’s a little more action during the day, but it was definitely worth the price and the extra travel.  If you don’t know where it is, it’s on Bonita Beach road between Bonita Beach and Fort Myers Beach, just a little north of the dog beach.

When we first started shooting, I just took advantage of some natural light and had my assistant, Yani, hold the reflector or diffuser.  I saw, though, that there was an outdoor shower, and my eyes lit up.  I knew it was a must for the last shots after sunset.  Her mom said, “You should get some under the shower,” and I thought, yup, in the nicest outfit you have to end the evening.  It was hot and sweaty and there were a lot of bugs right at the end, so I don’t think Lauren minded at all.
