#4: Genes and Jeans

Okay girls.  Number 4 on our need it list: a great pair of jeans.  Not all of us were born with model genes, so some of up need a few tricks up our sleeves! A great pair of jeans can work wonders!  They make you look great, feel great, and even help boost your GPA.  Tell your parents that and the are sure to splurge.  You need at least 1 pair of jeans that you can wear to that class with that cute lab partner.  That same pair can be great for date night, or to be THE girl at girls night out! My favorite: skinny jeans, straight leg, and trouser!  The perfect pair is different for everyone, but they all follow a few rules.

1. Bring a friend that has good taste AND will be blunt.  If your friend doesn’t meet these qualifications, meet them AFTER you go shopping.  Sounds brutal, but you don’t want to spend all of that money on something not so great! I can always count on my Mom or sisters

2.  No inappropriate fading.  You don’t want the fronts of your thighs or your backside to be noticeably faded.  This must makes everything look bigger and wider.

3. Great fit.  Not to tight, not to loose.  Remember they will stretch out a little.  And don’t put them in the dryer!!!

4.  Makes your legs look like they never end. Not everyone has mile long legs, but everyone can take advantage of jeans that make them look that way.  The less flaring the better, in my opinion.  When you have a great straight leg and then and flare of fabric it cuts the nice line of the leg. Make sure your ankles aren’t showing, and if you get cropped jeans, please wear high heals!  Jeans are a little long, once again, throw on some heals and gain an extra 3 inches of leg!

5.  Make an investment.  Not every pair of jeans need to be the “perfect jeans”, so save up some money and make them really perfect.  If you take your time you can find jeans that are in the $200 to $300  range for around $50. These jeans usually have superior cuts and fabrics!

6. It may take some time... but they are out there!  Trust me patience really is a virtue!  So start now and take your time!
