Drexel University is piloting a law school program where the first year of law school is taught traditionally, and upper year courses are taught from a practice standpoint, to better prepare law students for . . . practice. Sounds like a good way to teach students how to think like lawyers, and how to act like them.
The same article mentions that Vanderbilt is adding classes based on statutes and regulations, not just appellate case law, to reflect the breadth of actual practice. One of the most valuable classes I took at Emory was administrative law, for the same reason.
