Douglas Splittgerber, CPT.
Doug has been involved in the world of exercise for over 40 years. Like Debra, Doug also had a traumatic back injury while working at an iron foundry at 18, suffering from a Grade 3, spondylolythesis. The recommendation of no lifting anything over 30# and a fusion by 30 years of age was ignored. Instead, Doug was motivated to find out how and why his back fractured and what he could do about it. The very thing the doctor’s told him not to do, he did. Weight training and not casual weight training but a 24 year span of competitive bodybuilding and powerlifting.
Doug has also spent the past 40 years learning how the body functions and how to position the body for optimum strength and function. He has been a Certified Trainer since 1988 and has been certified by the American College of Sports Medicine, National Academy of Sports Medicine and International Sports Science Association. He has been a participant, competitor, gym owner, teacher, lecturer and trainer.

This husband and wife duo is on the doorstep to bringing their knowledge and understanding to the masses. They both continually work on their back problems, just as everyone should be working on their own issues. They are truly shining examples of what anyone is capable of and of the strength and vitality that we all should enjoy as we gracefully age.

Every time you exercise it is another practice session at using your body properly. Doug has been training over 40 years and Debra over 35 years and they both continue to practice every time they workout and so should you.
