Artist’s Statement "My desire for a meaningful and fulfilling life has been immeasurably enriched through a lifelong involvement in the Visual Arts.  I have spent my career working to develop my skills by using various combinations of media and materials with the intent to observe the effects that each has on the other in creating interesting results. In the early years, I focused on painting and drawing with an emphasis on the elements of design: line, shape, color, and contrast.  I was drawn to the Old Masters, in particular the works of Michelangelo, Rembrandt, and Titian.  Michelangelo's drawing-with his passionate approach impressed me greatly.  Rembrandt's use of light and contrast, his experimenting with a variety of effects in his media and material, and Titian's use of color influenced me as well.  These giants had an impact on the direction my art work took in my effort to find my visual voice. For me, art exists to focus one's attention inward.  That is why it inspires and uplifts.  Technique is enhanced through practice and effort, but technique by itself is incomplete without feeling.  It is the quality  of feeling, compassion, and love that elevate the production of art work to a higher level.  That is what is important. read more ../../About_Zenobia.htmlshapeimage_2_link_0
