Zenobia

ZENOBIA is a certified teacher of art with over 35 years experience teaching, presenting and exhibiting art.  During that time she has developed art programs and workshops for both adults and youth, and has served as liaison between the Corcoran School of  the Arts and the District of Columbia Public Schools for Art Reach program.  She is a product of an exceptional art education at Howard University, School of Fine Arts, Washington, DC and Corcoran School of Arts and has passed on her artistic guidance primarily to youth at levels K - 12 until retiring in 2004.

Zenobia has since turned her full energy toward creating original artwork reflecting her talent and experience.  In just a few years, her body of work has swelled and has merited recognition in the Prince George’s Sentinel and the Bowie Blade periodicals [Maryland].  No stranger to the art world, Zenobia has quickly established professional appearances, exhibiting in Juried, Invitational, Group and Solo shows throughout metropolitan Washington, DC.

[artist’s statement continued]

I am at a point in my career where I am focused on the need to create meaningful pieces which will express my vision as an artist in a special way.  The body of work that I am developing centers on the painting of water with its many moods and movement.  This theme lends itself well to the use of mixed media and varied materials.  Experimenting with these materials and techniques gives me opportunities to create the water theme in a fresh way.  I enjoy painting from the heart, and successfully putting this feeling on paper is a driving force for me.  It is my hope in creating these pieces to further enhance and develop my artistic skills in ways that express my visual voice."
