California Men’s Gathering, Day 3

Our last full day here. I was pretty tired, had been getting to sleep late. Just sort of wandered around after breakfast, didn't do any workshops. After breakfast there was a workshop that I sort of wandered in to about exploring issues about our fathers. I really wanted to try to escape, but couldn't find a good time to do it. Actually, it wasn't so bad. We sat in groups of six, discussing issues about our fathers, good and bad, each taking turns. It was kind of free-form. Then it was kind of free-form. I left at lunch time. I met a nice guy there (a therapist from Colorado) named Jamie that I was attracted to---he seemed nice and stable. He's wanting to move to Southern California, although I also suggested the Bay Area to him. We chatted a bit after the Daddy discussion thing but before lunch. He and I sat at lunch with Ben-Andy. Turns out they had some sort of thing going, cause later I saw the two of them in the hammock out front.

That afternoon I didn't see any workshops that really hit me, so I again just kind of wandered around. Spend some time trying to rechlorinate the hot tub, with Ben-Andy's (remote---he was still in the hammock) help. To no avail.

That evening we had the goodbye ceremony and then later a game show. We got up in a circle and held hands and listened to some song which made me cry---I turned over to Tony and hugged him and started crying, just overcome by the emotion I guess.

The game show was fun. Much later that night I hung out in the cafeteria, where a bunch of guys were playing games and then later just sitting by the fire chatting. One guy, a sort of older guy, was particularly funny, almost more like some Italian mafia guy. Anyway, it was very late, around 2 AM, so finally I went to bed (reluctantly). ArshBlog
