I have had a secret passion for photography for as long as I can remember and my wife Tiffney like’s to tease me and say “I remember seeing the light when I was born”. I use to sneak my dads cameras and pretend I was the greatest photographer. I would get so excited when he would give me his handy me down cameras, remember those Kodak 110 cameras with the flash cubes?
My dad is where I believe my passion for photography comes from. When my dad was in his early 20’s he was stationed in Greenland where he had taken hundreds of photos. He also made his own slides from the film he shot and developed. He did this with out the aid of a photo lab or even standard developing chemicals.
When my dad passed away I got his last camera a Minolta XG7 with several lenses, converters, and flashes. It was this camera that got me to be motivated about photography. I wanted to pickup where he had left off.
In more recent times I purchased a Nikon D80, my first DSLR. The pictures on this site are mainly shot with this camera how ever I plan to share my film photos and even some of the photos my father had taken while in Greenland. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Please remember these photos are a passion of mine, so please don’t steal my work or any other photographers work.
I am Alan R. Olsen, Welcome to the photos that I see
