A Red Thread Family

Why “a red thread”?

There is a Chinese legend that says the gods tie a red string around the ankles of men and women who will one day marry each other.  The China adoptive community has embraced an adapted version of this legend:  An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstances.  The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.

Although our children haven’t come to us exclusively from China, the sentiment definitely seems to fit our family.  We know our children have joined our family because they’re the right ones for us!
