Bookcrossing around Colchester, Essex
About BookCrossing and us...
BookCrossing is a unique way to share and track books. You can find out all about BookCrossing on their own website bookcrossing.com. We are a small group of BookCrossers based in the Colchester area who meet up on a regular basis. The Layer Fox is our main meeting point and is also an Official BookCrossing Zone (OBCZ). Anyone may pick up a book for free from there during opening hours which at the time of writing is 12-11pm Mon-Thu, 12-12 Fri-Sat and12-10.30 Sundays.
This OBCZ was started by Seadbed but is currently maintained by karen07814 and Ardachy. You can get an idea of some of the books likely to be available by clicking here.
We also maintain a smaller shelf of free books at The Purple Dog in Eld Lane, Colchester. We would like to thank the landlords of both public houses for allowing us to use their premises for this purpose.
In January 2010 we started a further shelf at Slack Space in Colchester town centre. Details of further OBCZs can be found und ‘News’.

Local BookCrossers meet here usually on the third Thursday of each month at about 7pm. Anyone is welcome to join us. We also maintain a shelf of free books there.
