A Porter from Chico, California.

This is a classically American porter, with more hops, less roasted-malt-centric, and high on fruity esters.  Great beer, and I find the flavor peaks 6-8 months after botting.  Bittered with Nugget hops, finished with Willamette.

Sierra Nevada is proud of its history as one of the pioneers of the craft brewing movement and has been brewing beers in Chico, California since 1981.   Founded by visionary dreamer and homebrewer Ken Grossman, the original brewery was cobbled together in 1979 using second-hand pieces of equipment.  But the result was first-rate: award winning ales were soon pouring from the upstart brewery.  Expansion after expansion followed, but the beers remained the true to the original batches, using only the best ingredients and fresh hops.
