A Pale Ale style ale from Chico, California.
This beer is the gold standard of American pale ales. It's probably the best known American micro-brewed beer behind Samuel Adams, and defined the landscape for west-coast beers. A hearty malt body serves as the base for its full range of hop flavors: nicely bitter up front, leading to flavorful tongue-coating hops in the middle, then a fresh bouquet of zesty Cascade hops at the end. The quintessential American pale ale.

Sierra Nevada is proud of its history as one of the pioneers of the craft brewing movement and has been brewing beers in Chico, California since 1981. Founded by visionary dreamer and homebrewer Ken Grossman, the original brewery was cobbled together in 1979 using second-hand pieces of equipment. But the result was first-rate: award winning ales were soon pouring from the upstart brewery. Expansion after expansion followed, but the beers remained the true to the original batches, using only the best ingredients and fresh hops.
