Best Bitter: Originating in Great Britain during the 1700s, the style is named for the flavor.  It's also referred to as a "session" beer because its lower alcohol content allows one to consume more of this social ale in one session. 

 

Great Lakes Moondog Ale

A Best Bitter or an ESB from Great Lakes Brewing, Cleveland Ohio.

First off, this is a beautiful beer.  Crystal clear, light straw color.  Nice.  Flavor is lightly crisp hops, subtle malty sweetness.  As with most Great Lakes beers, this beer is very well balanced.  Tasty bitter ale.


5%abv, Spring Seasonal, IBU's=25, serve at 40-45°F
