Keeping the dream alive....
November 7-11, 2010
It all started with a dream and a desire. Bringing the ARBA Convention to Minnesota has been a fun filled learning experience for all of us. Our committee is filled with dedicated individuals from the upper midwest’s five state area. North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin make up the regional area. In keeping with the dream that was started 100 years ago we will be celebrating one hundred years of exhibiting rabbits. The National Pet Stock Association of America was founded on January 10, 1910 by Charles S. Gibson at his home at 1405 West Warren Ave., Detroit, Michigan with a total of 13 people present which became charter members. Charles Gibson was elected as the Secretary/Treasurer. It is not known who designed the first national emblem, but it was common place for the time to use the head of Lady Liberty with the laurel leaves in her hair along with the crossed flags as part of an American symbol. The first logo used from 1910 - 1917 is pictured below.
