Applewood Cottage is secluded, restful and just five minutes from downtown Courtenay. The Cottage is open year round offering private and fully self-contained accommodation. After a day up the ski hill or exploring the Comox Valley, return home to soak in the claw foot bathtub and enjoy a relaxing evening around the cosy wood stove. In the warmer months return to an outdoor shower and a barbecue on one of the decks. Peaceful and nestled in the trees, Applewood Cottage is perfect for a romantic weekend or a ski holiday. It is also an ideal artistic retreat. The cottage even comes with a piano! The communities of Courtenay, Cumberland and Comox make up the area known as the Comox Valley. Here we have a taste of all seasons with the mountains and the ocean as our playground. Enjoy some of the finest hiking, golfing, sailing, kayaking, fishing and mountain biking on Vancouver Island. If you ski, snowboard or snowshoe, Mt Washington Alpine Ski Resort is just 25 minutes away and now offers night skiing on it’s alpine runs. The valley offers a great selection of restaurants, from fine dining and local to fast food and takeout. Or pick up your groceries from our year round Farmer’s Market and cook at home! The vibrant fine arts community in the Comox Valley provides eclectic shops, galleries and great music. We are host to numerous music and arts events, some of which include; Vancouver Island Musicfest, Filberg Festival, Big Time Out, CYMC and Fiddlefest.
