Was it a Bill Luders original shelf bracket?  Is it bronze?  When did stainless steel come into use?  We have to make educated guesses as we piece this boat back together.  Going out on a limb, this bent bracket was not original to the ’38 improvements and most likely came from the coat closet, say in the 1970s.
