ANIMAL BEHAVIOR FIELD STUDY Junior Troop 278 We studied four bears named Ursula, Mimi, Virginia, and Gus. While we were studying the bears, they enjoyed a meal of grass. We noticed that Gus was searching for food al ot and eating a lot of the grass. Gus (the youngest) was trying to play with Mimi (the 2nd to youngest) but Mimi would not let him. At one point the two bears (Mimi and Gus) got together and took a nap. Ursula, the oldest, was not playing like the other bears, she was fluffing her bed.

While we were watching the bears, Gus had picked up a stick, basically a tree!! One time Gus got a drink in a small pond. Sometimes Gus will groom himself or he will groom Mimi. The Black Bears were very interesting to watch. We had a lot of fun.
