I recently got the chance to help out at the Paskowitz’s Surf Camp for Autistic Kids. What an amazing experience to see these kids surfing and having a great time. The vibe at the beach was all smiles. I was a little nervous, I didn’t know if the kids would take to me and if I could surf with them.
Even with 10 yrs surfing experience, being held responsible for the well being of a special needs child was a little heavy for me. Also physically I was not big enough to get these kids up and riding. The instructors were all bigger guys with muscles to match! So I decided to cruise on the shore and help get the kids in and out of the water.
Here’s the story that came out of the camp. For more information www.surfershealing.org
