Trip of a lifetime

I just got back from safari in Tanzania. My company, Thomson Safaris, sent me on a 13-day trip visiting 3 national parks. It was such an unbelievable opportunity, I had to keep pinching myself while I was there...it was just that amazing.

I’ve always been intrigued with wildlife and Tanzania is definitely the country to see African animals – my group and I saw the Big Five and more. It was surreal to see the animals so close and in person (a welcome change from my usual perspective – from the couch watching the Discovery Channel!

This was a camping trip (even though the Thomson tents are so well-equipped, they  hardly make you feel like you are camping) and being immersed was such a bonus. I was “lulled” to sleep by sounds of wildebeest every night, you don’t get that staying in a hotel room!

It’s really tough to sum up my trip and I’ve heard it time and time again from our guests that you can’t really describe such an incredible experience in words – they often just say that it was a trip of a lifetime. They’re so right...I get it now.
