The Village is a new ministry in the Birmingham area. We are building a city within the city that facilitates reentry and restoration.

We accept applications coming from local agencies (i.e. UAB-TASC), the Department of Corrections, the Department of Human Resources (DHR), and personal referrals from churches and other groups.

We opened our doors during January 2008, after a quick-run of leg work dating back just a few weeks earlier (our first meeting with the Alabama Department of Corrections was on December 6- and many incredible contacts in the State offices have helped us make fast progress).

Our hope is to take what we are learning from them, what we are learning from others with whom we are working, and create a system that is replicable just about anywhere to assist in reentry & restoration. Everything we are learning and finding is being written and will be printed- in downloadable form- on this site in the next few months.
