Andrew is passionate in his assertion that great teachers need not be “tech-savvy”.  They are novel, innovative and willing to take risks.  “What we need in the 21st Century is not teachers with computer skills, but teachers with minds open to change, teachers with new ideas.  The technical know-how comes second to the ideas that make it necessary.”

Andrew has been involved in a number of projects including the DE&T innovation branch (iDreamers) iPod trial and he completed a Knowledge Bank Rich Picture Case Study on the creation of a 24/7 virtual classroom. He is in demand as a keynote speaker and workshop presenter both locally, and overseas.

His own biology podcast has a listening audience of more than 3000 students and he has inspired and helped numerous other teachers at his school and in other schools to create podcasts, vodcasts, screencasts, websites, discussion boards and blogs.
