Thank you for visiting the Anderberg website! We would like you to get to know who we are, how God is calling  us to Sweden, and how you can be a part of our team.

Blake and Rachel are teachers at Alma Heights Christian Academy in Pacifica.  Our children Sofia (15), Mark (14), Florence (12) and Erik (10)  attend Alma Heights. We have been living and working at Alma Heights for the last 17 years.

We are missionaries to Sweden with TEAM, The Evangelical Alliance Mission. We are leaving this July for Stockholm. We are going to Sweden to be part of a team of church planters, helping to spread the good news of Jesus.

People often ask us, “Why Sweden?” It all started when we received the first issue of TEAM’s new mission’s magazine, Team Horizons. On the cover was a picture of Stockholm which I recognized because I had spent my senior year of high school in a town near Stockholm. We had received the magazine because Rachel had spent a summer in Turkey with TEAM in 1992. 

The morning I noticed the magazine in our mail slot I ran home to show Rachel the article about Sweden. We read the entire article, detailing the spiritual condition of Sweden and the call that the evangelical church had given to TEAM to provide missionaries to help plant churches. In addition, there was an accompanying DVD that touched our hearts.

Nearly all the denominations in Sweden have been in a steady decline. Sweden, which has historically been a missionary sending nation, has itself become a mission field. It is estimated that 95 to 98 percent of the Swedish people are without a personal relationship with Christ.

TEAM has been asked to send missionaries to Sweden by InterAct, a church and missions movement based in Sweden. InterAct’s vision is to plant churches, train leaders, and serve in society in Sweden and throughout the world.

The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) was founded in 1890 by Fredrik Franson, a Swedish immigrant to America. Since that time TEAM’s purpose has been to help churches send missionaries to establish reproducing churches in other nations to the glory of God. TEAM’s goal is to reproduce the body of Christ where the most people have the greatest need.

TEAM has over 750 missionaries serving in more than 40 countries. They are at work in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa and the Pacific Rim.
