This history-making composition is a MUST SEE!!! If you haven’t heard Ramirez’s Misa, be sure to catch this performance, as it is a rarely performed work of art! Ariel Ramirez composed Misa Criolla to be performed by choir, soloists and Andean instrumentation, all of which will appear at this performance. This creole mass uses indigenous Argentine rhythms to invoke the spirit of the Mass - pan flutes, guitar, keyboard and percussion are the backbone for the choir and soloists and the contrasting moods of each movement capture each liturgical phrase in a very unique and fresh way.

The first half of the concert will be a collection of Spanish and Argentine songs for guitar and voice.

Conducted by Anastasia Black (Director of Music, St. James the Less) with Joshua Black, tenor and Fred Montoya, bass.

Norm Ruiz, guitar, John Knecht, percussion, Marianne Kim, keyboard.
