1970, Salzburg Centennial Balloon Flight (No. 56/70). A small folded lettersheet reproducing an 1870 Letter-Journal from the Siege of Paris (the first use of balloons to carry the mails). There is a small blue "1870 Neptune Raiffeisen 1970 Bordstempel" handstamp on the face as well as a red "Republic Francaise seal on the reverse. FLOWN

A flown event cover, official aerogramme with First Day Albuquerque, New Mexico cancel dated Feb. 10, 1973 and a rubber stamp certificate No. 14/17 flown aboard "Star of Texas" on February 17, 1973. Signed by pilot Karl Stefan and co-pilot Vera Simon.

1977 Flown ‘Atmosat’ Balloon Mail. This cover has a double, black printed cachet (showing pilot Tom Heinsheimer and a co-pilot). It shows an unfranked Jun 16/ 1 St. FSSG Unit launch cancel in the center (a ship cancel, possibly they were out of stamps) as well as a Sep 6, Long Beach, CA magenta hand cancel for a second launch at the top right. Atmostat was a research program dating observations from a stable pressure altitude over several hours/days, hence the use of a super pressure balloon.
