SubSyncX.zip

The links on Versiontracker and MacUpdate are dead, so I mirror here this free software. You can use it to synchronize subtitles. Can be used only with .srt

sub2srt transforms the subs into srts; it’s here: sub2srt.dmg

MacDVDBitrateParanoia-0.5.dmg.bz2

The only way to see the bitrate on a Mac (apart of the expensive one from Digigami.com). It only show a graph for the whole DVD, not the actual bitrate while a scene is played .

If somebody finds another way, please let me know.

I found it: VLC, at least in version 0.8.5, can do it. Go to Window > Information > Statistics, and there is a reading, Stream bitrate, that reads like once per second the bitrate of any video.

Scale 1600.workflow.zip

Useful for scaling images quickly. The default is at 1600, but it’s changeable through a dialog box.

Install it by un-archiving it and copy to home/Library/Workflows/Applications/Finder. (create those folders if you don’t have them)

In order to use it, select in Finder the image / images, then right-click on one of them > Automator > Scale 1600

iEatBrainz

One of the most brilliant softs I ever met. It uses the database from MusicBrainz for finding ID tags for tunes in iTunes. It does so by acoustically comparing the tunes, so one can find tags for tunes without any tag. It’s not flawless, but definitely worth a try!

silentnight.dmg

For those PowerBook owners that cherish the silence of their toy more than a reduced temperature. Read the Read Me file, and do backup those two files.

I use that hack since it came out (10.3.2, if I’m correct), and have no problems with my PB.

(I put the file here, as it can not be found on the net. Hope I’m not breaking  some rules.)
