Check out Alpha!!
Twenty years ago in London, England, a pastor Nicky Gumbel started a simple dinner and lecture series to discuss the questions of life, and the basics of the Christian faith.
Since then, over 8 million people have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world.
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away.
Alpha Classes are offered at many churches around the Triangle, here in North Carolina, including Blacknall Presbyterian Church, in Durham, NC. Blacknall is conveniently located next to Duke University and downtown Durham, next to Durham Freeway (147) and 9th Street.
Blacknall has offered the Alpha Course over the past five years, with many participants from all different backgrounds and beliefs attending. We hope you will consider joining us at least for one of our “Check it Out” opening meetings to see if Alpha may be an encouragement for you as well.
Over time, we hope to use this site to enable other Durham-area churches to start or grow their own Alpha Courses.
