Three houses with no roofs....

This is a picture of three houses all belonging to one family.  It was hard but we told them that we would only fix one house to give them a dry place to live until they could get the funds to re-roof the other family houses.  Decisions like this are hard but under these circumstances necessary.  It is sad to say there are so many families like this living under tarps waiting to get a dry roof over their heads.  All three families will move into this house until enough money has been saved to re-roof the other two houses.  This could take years.

This is the owner of the house we are writing about.  She is very poor and had lied to us when we had asked her about her house and situation.  She had told us her husband and father had been killed in the storm.  We questioned this and began to investigate her story, sadly she had lied to us. her father had died but many years ago and she was not married.  I used the opportunity to  explain to those gathered and her that they did not need to tell stories to get us to help them.  The house with no roof was evidence that help was needed and warranted.  I hoped a lesson on honesty and grace could be learned.
