My role in WAOD 2006, was to raise funds, conceptualize, and to produce a yearlong outreach campaign that culminated on May 7th, with the launch of a citywide coalition, May 7th Coalition, together with twelve other organizations in Los Angeles dedicated to orphans and youth affected by AIDS/HIV. I also arranged for a large-scale aerial art event on the same day, in collaboration with NextAID and aerial artist, John Quigley, whereby youth and their mentors sent out “Messages of Hope” to other youth affected by AIDS around the world.
