My car is a 1961 sedan.  The Continentals came in two formats that year, the four door sedan and the very unique four door convertible.  There was only one engine option offered for the Continentals and that engine spec changed throughout the 60’s.  My car has the 430 MEL large block, which was a hold over from the late 50’s Lincolns and Mercury’s. Other than clean and polish the 47 year old paint, I have only added modern steel belted white walls.  I do have plans to restore the car as things wear down, but for now it is a car that I occasionally drive for fun and I plan on keeping it completely original.
