Animation
I started toying with 3D graphics in high school when I took an introductory class on Lightwave. From there I took a college student’s budget and began playing with the open-source modeling software, Blender. Now I’ve built my own pipeline using modo and blender for modeling, Maya for rigging and animating with any particle/soft body effects, Mental Ray for rendering, and lots and lots of Python to tie it all together.
I have a couple personal projects in the works right now which will become available as a portfolio soon.
Programming
A few years ago I began playing with programming in Basic and Pascal. I had always heard that these languages were easy to learn and would make it a small task to move on to more powerful languages. After a couple months I was bored out of my mind and had almost no clue as to what I was doing. One day I found a tutorial on programming with C and I decided to take a crack at it. As it turns out, this was the language meant for me. C was incredibly easy for me to pick up and understand. From there I applied my knowledge of C and learned Objective-C and the Cocoa frameworks.
Game Development
I hope to take my experience in programming and try my hand at game development. The animation projects which I am working on now will become the basis for a couple of trial runs at creating games from a variety of genres.
