The Studio Continues

Continuing on the trend started earlier this week with rearranging furniture, I was looking at the shelves in my studio and was rather unimpressed. So I decided that I would build a new set.

If you've seen my old site, then you may recall a picture of the setup I had with my shelves.

I had essentially set up a desk for myself within a set of shelves from Ikea. And if you recall, what I had in the studio prior to today's makeover, was simply the middle set of shelves from the picture above.

I've been thinking for about a week that I needed more shelf space. I had pretty much used up all the room I had and my desk was already collecting clutter that was never intended to end up there. I originally pulled out the corner unit to replace the shelves I had, but realized that I could future-proof this design by adding another set of shelves. Here's what I've come up with:

I've got a lot more shelf space, though my window is completely blocked now. There's still some setting up/cleaning up to be done before I'm done, but overall I am very pleased with the result. I have much more workspace on my desk now that I've moved all of my PC equipment to the shelves, and I actually have much easier access to books I use often as well as my other goodies. Bonus!

Forever Learning

The most interesting conclusion I have come to is this: as much as I know right now, there is always more to learn. Seems obvious, right? Well the more that I learn, the more I realize there is much MUCH more to learn. Read More...

I've been in my apartment for a couple of months now, and tonight I have finally gotten my living room set up enough that I wouldn't be completely embarassed if someone were to come over. Read More...
