Panther pride unicycle team
The Panther Pride Unicycle Team (PPUT) is a performance/competitive unicycle group made up of students representing every school in the Snoqualmie Valley School District; and, some riders from schools in the surrounding school districts. The riders range in age from 5 years old to 62 years young. Coached by the physical educator of North Bend Elementary School, Alan Tepper, the team performs at the half-time for the Seattle Sonics, Seattle Storm, University of Washington Huskies, University of Puget Sound Falcons, & the Mount Si High School Wildcats.
The team also performs for special events such as the Special Olympic Opening Ceremony, The Seattle Center Children’s Festival, parades, school assemblies, and state-wide conferences for physical educators: Washington Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance; Best of the West; PEAK Conferences.
Some of the team members are committed to practicing all spring and part of the summer as well, to prepare for the North American Unicycling Championships. This year it was held in Saline, Michigan. We returned successful with well over 100 honors.
Every other year, the World Unicycling Championships take place. Last year we attended the event in Switzerland and returned with 32 medals.
