Ultraspeed & High Speed Rail
We would like to thank all those who attended the Institution of Civil Engineers conference on Monday 08 May.  The Ultraspeed team greatly enjoyed putting forward the case for 500km/h maglev transport for Britain.  We welcome the opening of the debate with the proponents of a wheel-on-rail solution.

We were interested to learn of Network Rail’s proposals, advanced at the conference, for a 240km/h - 270km/h rail route.  We note that it has half the speed of Ultraspeed, connects less than half the destinations and requires about twice the vehicle fleet.

A consensus emerged that any new transport system in the UK will have to prove itself against strategic economic, as well as against transport metrics.

With Ultraspeed as the most comprehensive and cost-effective solution to the economic imperative for radically enhanced strategic transport, the Ultraspeed team looks forward to progressing the debate.
