UK Ultraspeed applauds today’s article by Political Editor William Green in today’s Newcastle Journal which analyses the economic benefits a maglev link between Northern England and Scotland could deliver.
It highlights the success of the Oresund fixed link (pictured above) between Copenhagen in Denmark and Malmo in Sweden, where ‘hi-tech business is taking advantage of the development of a common labour and property market on the two sides’.
The article quotes Tyne Bridge MP David Clelland saying: "It is a classic demonstration of how improving transport links between regions, and in this case countries, can transform their economies to the benefit of both sides."
UK Ultraspeed looks forward to increasing and deepening integration between the Glasgow - Edinburgh and Tees – Tyne maglev projects to explore the benefits of a 311mph cross-border link between Scotland and the North of England.
